The NHS locally is reminding people to plan ahead for the medicines they need over the holiday period.
One of the things you can do is to see if you are running out of your prescription medication. If you need to order more, it is important to know your local pharmacies’ opening hours in order to be able to pick up your medication. Over Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day there are many pharmacies in the area that will be open.
If you rely on regular prescription medication, check now whether you have enough to see you through the festive period. It is also important to keep a stocked medicine cabinet, with items such as cold and flu relief.
You can find all the opening times here - Herts Valleys Pharmacy Rotas - Dec/Jan 19/20

Dr Nicolas Small, local GP and Chair of Herts Valleys CCG, said:
“GP surgeries and pharmacies often require 48 hours’ notice to prepare a repeat prescription.”
As well as the help you can receive in your local pharmacies, NHS 111 can help if you have an urgent medical problem and you’re not sure what to do. If you are worried about yourself or your child over the busy festive period do not hesitate to call 111 or visit www.111.nhs.uk.
