This year’s annual report describes the work that we have been doing over the last 12 months to make sure that the NHS in west Hertfordshire stays on course to meet local health needs now and in the future.

We have made considerable progress and, in particular, we have worked hard to steady our finances and to improve our performance and the way we operate whilst also transforming and improving services.

We are delighted to be able to report that since year end our progress has been reflected in an improved rating of ‘good’ for Herts Valleys CCG as part of the 2017/18 annual assessment by NHS England. Our strong engagement with stakeholders and improved performance results, which received positive comments from NHS England, are reinforced in our annual report.

We are grateful for the support and cooperation from our committed CCG workforce, our patient representatives, partners and from our member practices and the clinical leads who are so critical to the work we do. This summary report reflects everyone’s collective efforts to deliver good health services in west Hertfordshire and we hope that you will find it useful and interesting.
